The feeling that something meaningful
has just passed, or is about to.
Each work begins with a moment like that.
The way light moves across a landscape.
A pause.

I have always been drawn to work that preserves a moment — captures its timelessness.
And, as long as I can remember, to working with my hands — first as a child, drawing at my father’s drafting table in Texas. For years, that led to only painting for those closest to me — commissions or impressions from places lived or travelled through, or an effort to save small moments of life with my husband and our young children.

And, to embracing art as a process that unfolds slowly, often starting as a sketch that then takes shape through layers and refinements over time — seeing past the intimidation of sharing my work, to its deeper story and what it may mean to others.
Now, it's led to sharing the wonder of creating and reflecting, in a small way, the beauty God has created.

Each piece is crafted to stand on its own. Brushstrokes remain visible. Edges remain soft where they need to. A blending of light and shape and color.
